One of rugby league’s true superstars, Laurie was the dominant five-eighth at club, Origin and Test level throughout the 1990’s.

Laurie was first spotted as a 16 year old playing for the Junee Diesels in 1986.  He made his first grade debut just one year later and his International debut before his 19th birthday.

Laurie starred as a try scoring centre amidst a powerful Canberra Raiders backline.  He captained his State of Origin team on 13 occasions, sharing in five NSW series wins and was named Dally M Captain of the year in 1996.

Laurie played 34 matches for the Kangaroos, captaining his country 6 times.  He was ranked 35/100 greatest ever rugby league players by the Courier Mail Brisbane in 1997.  Laurie retired in 2000 finishing his stellar career with 244 first grade games and three premierships with the Canberra Raiders.

Today he is the NSW State of Origin coach.  He is also an ambassador for Carlton and United Breweries.

Although no longer playing today, GS Sports Management still represents Laurie in all contractual obligations regarding media, sponsorship and endorsements.  Laurie also takes time to mentor many of the younger clients in the company.  He has contracts with Channel 7, Fox Sports and News Limited.
