Wayne Portlock has been involved with Rugby League for the last 45 years after finishing school and joining the NSW Police Force for 18 years whilst playing First Grade Rugby League for North Sydney Bears and Eastern Suburbs Roosters, finishing his career with captain coaching Young in Cherry Pickers to a Grand Final.

His final year playing was in the English Rugby League with Hull FC .

Wayne went on to coach at North Sydney from 1993 to 1997 with SG Ball, Jersey Flegg and finally Reserve Grade .

Wayne then joined the NSW Rugby League in 1999, firstly as Development Officer conducting development camps, pathway programs and running the NSW District Representative competitions which showcases our best in junior rugby league and for the last four years as the High Performance Manager co ordinating the NSW Under 16s and 18s State teams along with the ARL and NRL Junior Kangaroos at national level.

Throughout his career in the game and post, Wayne has formed unique partnerships with all NRL clubs and media organisations – helping him develop a very good understanding of what is required to make it to the top in a players chosen sport.

Wayne has a good rapport with people of all ages. He is passionate about rugby league and is well suited to his role of player agent.
